• PA Jewelry Care
Peaceful Art Jewelry has many kinds of jewelry. We pride ourselves on different varieties and our designs so we feel it is important to give you care instructions on our designs.
Precious metals are used in most of our designs. The best way of course is to take to a jeweler or use a ultasonic cleaner with jewelry cleaner. A heated temperature of slightly higher that your hands can touch is best with some kind of small vibration to soak and shake loose the nasty things that get stuck in our jewelry. If you do not have that available to you, you can use a mild dish soap with a cap full of Mr. Clean in very hot water. Let soak and then use a soft tooth brush to remove the particles under the stones and on the sides not the tops. All your stones should be checked prior to cleaning and you should get the recommendation for the hardness of the stones before putting in any cleaners at all. Most natural and synthetic gem stones are ok to put in the cleaners that are in gold and silver mountings. Although you should be very careful that you know if your stone is man made or something like from the Opal Family or the Turquoise Family or any natural shell. If you have these stones only clean with mild cleaners and lower heat and mostly just clean with hot water with dishsoap. If your jewelry is antique do not put in a ultrasonic cleaner or you will have to have it repaired and the antiquing reapplied.
On our Peaceful Picture Frame Jewelry and our My Ever Changing Dreams Artist Charms where we have images applied to Stainless Steel we have a cleaning tip for you. Never use brushes on the images. Since they are coated with a hard epoxy they are very strong. It is in our opinion to only use very hot water with 1 cap full of Mr. Clean and good dish soap in a soup bowl for the images. Also some of our frames are vermeil and also it is best to use this same technic. Never use anything that would scratch the surface of the metal or the image as they are something that is not buffed out like a stone. Gental care is very important to them. After cleaning in the bowl let then dry naturally and anything that you would like to shine more use a jewelers cloth to finish the shine.
Swarovski Crystal is very expensive and you should keep good care. We use this product in most of our designs. Please follow the same care as above with Swarovski Products. They are strong as most gem stones but do not do anything to scratch or your sparkle will be gone.
Here are some useful tips. Let your jewelry dry naturally. Never use abrasives unless you are in the jewelry or metal industry. You will remove precious metal and particles of the stone and make scratches. Never use chemicals you do not know about. Do not mix chemicals. Do not put multiple pieces of jewelry thrown together in a jewelry box or purse. Do not use tooth paste. Do put silver in a air tight bag or box when not in use. Use 3 M anti tarnish product stips in your silver. Lay jewelry not touching other pieces. Buy a good jewelers cleaning cloth they last for years. Put gold and silver in a VERY safe place now not in the public eye when not worn. Store in a place where people are less likly to look. When in doubt clean with hot soapy water only and seek Peaceful Art Jewelry/Design for a answer via our web site contact information.
