Julie I have known you for a long time and I have some questions I think the public will want to know. How old are you Julie and tell us where you live and little about your family?
I'm 26 years old and I live in Checotah, Oklahoma, originally from Shafter, California.
I have a younger brother Josh and a older sister Sarah who has 2 kids, Justin and Katie.
Did you go to college for your work and if so or if not what age did you start and what or who taught you?
No, I never went to college, I learned everything I know over a course of 8 years.
Would you please share with us how long you have been doing web sites and what was the motivating force behind designing them?
I started doing web design when I was about 19 I think, It just kind of happened, I didn't plan on it, but I'm glad it did! :o)
At what point did you decide to do fantasy art and what gave you the idea to do so?
I've always loved art and wanted to be an artist, but I just wasn't very good at actually painting, lol so I thought to my self, Well I know I'm good at graphic design, and I love photography and always had a fascination with silhouettes, so I went to work. I NEVER would have thought people would love my art as much as they do.
Here is my very first attempt at creating a Silhouette fairy..

Your unique fantasy art is digitally enhanced and uses photography, the question is do you design the background first and the fairy last or the other way around?
Actually it's kind of both, sometimes I'll take the photo of the background and in vision the fairy on there or I'll make the fairy then make the background to fit it
How did you get your ideas for the background and do you take your own pictures or do you ever use others pictures?
As you can tell I love sunsets and moon scapes, so most of the moon backgrounds I have to make or I purchase them from a web site that sells beautiful backgrounds then I edit them and make them my own creation, a lot of the sunset photos I take my self then I add in water so make it look like the ocean.
In your art you use figures for real people can you tell us if those are real people or graphics? If they are real people where do you get your models. If not where do you get you inspiration for the subject matter.
It's actually kind of funny how to make them, I take model pictures, then I'll piece together arms, hands, legs and heads until I get it the way I want, "Stargazing & Motherhood" is actually silhouettes of my sister and her daughter, so I make them model for me from time to time :o)
In your artwork Julie please tell the people what it is that you love about it that has made it one on your top priorities?
I love creating, so when I started creating something that people really seemed to like and possibly purchase it for their homes, I just couldn't stop, I have so many ideas for different art pieces, I'll probably do this forever! ::o)
How do you juggle around your time running a business (web site creator) and create new art?
Sometimes it gets hectic, but most of the time I'll get really busy with art orders, then I'll get busy with web site orders, it's like it comes in spirts, one week I'll get 2 web site orders and the next week I'll get all art orders, So it evens it's self out :o)

This is a web site me and Jessica Galbreth came up with, it displays galleries of
Most of todays most talented fantasy artists
Julie can you tell us the number one inspiring person for your web design and who got you started or how you got into the business of the Fantasy Area of Web Sites and People?
I guess it just kind of happened, I didn't plan on being a web designer or artist
I just started playing around with my graphics program one day, and realized
I really love making graphics, so from there I started making free link ware graphics
I posted my web site on the local town web site and a web designer contacting me
Asking if I would like to do some work for him, after working for him I started
landing local business jobs. The first artist to contact me was Jacqueline Tarrolly
Then after her, Jessica Galbreth contacted me to redesign her web site in early 2001
From then on I started designing artist web sites :o)
Please tell us your largest job or the job that was top in your heart that really sticks in your mind for you to share with others in Web Design.
I think my largest sites have always been Jessica Galbreth's and I always love how her designs come out. She basically just tell me what colors she wants and she lets me go for it.
Please tell us where your dreams are going with the art and the web sites and what it is that you are trying to accomplish and in what field to achieve your dreams.
I just hope to continue to create art that people love so they will keep coming back for more! Same goes for my web designs :o)
This question is important to many people now that even more people are wanting a website. Can you tell us some advice about web sites and web site designers that will help us all in the future since there has come about the place where web sites are being offered really HIGH to LOW cost by people that are not professional enough to call themselves web designers? What advise would you give the public to stay away from and what to look for both good and bad since you are a very experienced designer?
I would check out their portfolios, from there you can see how they create and their web sites function
Since the web site business is becoming dominant by the (do it your self) industry what can you tell us that concerns you most about people not knowing the industry well enough to do it their selves and WHY you feel that web site designers are still very much in need today?
Well web design is hard thing to learn and I think if you want people to shop at your site, you need it to look professional and be fully functional.
Julie please tell us about your highlighted publications and where else you would like to see your work published.
In December of 2007 Realms of Fantasy Magazine contacted me and asked if I wanted to me on the cover of their magazine, I was so shocked! hehe :o)
I just signed with a company called Pacific Trading and they are making my art into beautiful gift items such as Mugs, Art Tiles, Candle Holders, Jewelry Boxes and other goodies, so that is a huge deal for me and I'm very excited about it :o) You can see all my products here: http://www.pacifictradingonline.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=21&osCsid=de4de7d55159c9d7d7ecec90997fbd89
Please tell us the companies and artists that you love.
My favorite artists are David Delamare, Amoreno, Brian Froud & Selina Fenech
