1. Please tell us your name, marital status, children, pets, and where you are currently residing?(general area not necessarily specific)
My name is Pamela Hill, although I paint under the name dzaet. I have 5 children and live in Eastern Virginia alongside 2 cats.

I rarely did any art as a child, and only began painting professionally 2 years ago.

3. Did your parents embrace your artist gift? How has that effected your art?
My parents were not interested in what I did, and it is apparent in my art.

I have taken no classes at all. Ok, I did take art in the 8th grade.

oil
6. What types of canvas do you use? Which is your favorite canvas and why?
I use stretched linen. I appreciate the smoothness.
7. Do you have a reason why you only paint people? Explain.
I paint people because I primarily paint autobiographically.

8. What is the importance in the connection of human in animals in your paintings?
I use birds to symbolize the soul.

My past. I keep an art journal, which I would hardly call gothic.

Most of my paintings are very autobiographical, recalling feelings from childhood to now. Without the people in my life, I would have nothing to paint.

11. You have written two books, do you plan on writing any more? What will they be about?
The future is always uncertain.
12. Do you have any advise for upcoming artists?
Be true to yourself. Don’t paint to please people or to be famous, or to make money. That is when art becomes a business and not a passion.
13. What sets your mood to paint? Music, light, dark, etc.
Emotional upset

Elizabethan. I adore the clothing…

17. Do you have a dream that you hope will become a reality someday? What is it?
That I will never die.
18. Of your paintings, Do you have a favorite painting and/or a least favorite painting? Why?
That is like asking me if I have a favorite painful memory. I would have to say that the paintings involving my mother are among the most emotionally charged, therefore I probably feel closer to them.

19. What is the meaning behind your logo, artist name?
dzaet… means 808 in Armenian. I was born at 8:08, and when I began painting, I felt as though my life was beginning anew. Like I had just been born.
20. What are your thoughts on the way mankind is treating the earth today? Do you participate in “going green”?
I worry more about the way man is treating his fellow man. I do not participate in going green… politically incorrect?

21. Do you have a message or a favorite quote? What is its significance to you?
We are so limited on this earth with human hands… if only the mind could hold the paintbrush. Its significance is apparent. You can only imagine the art that would be produced, eh?
