1. Please tell us basic stuff like, your names, who runs Bikers 2000 Magazine and where you live.
The magazine was first published in 2003 and its backers are Jody Roszell, Patrick McCary, and Matt Smith. Jody runs the everyday operations of the magazine. Patrick and Matt are “jacks of all trade” and pick up the slack whenever and wherever. We are all from Oxford, Alabama. Hence, we are known as “The Southern Boys.”
2. Can you tell us about how you came up with the idea for Bikers 2000 Magazine and why? Also about the idea of the online version of the magazine. How they interact in the idea of the beginning of the magazine and the online version?
Jody’s brother Jeff kept telling the boys that they should publish a Biker Magazine. In the past they have published magazines on other outdoor sports. The on line version came about one morning when Matt came in and said I want to make our web page like a magazine. We wanted to give a little extra something to our readers. In the past two years since its creation it has developed into something that is envied by others in the industry.
3. Please tell us the idea you had as a guideline to help fund the magazine. Your publications are FREE Magazine and the free Online Version. Please tell our readers what it is that helps fund the magazine and how your fans can help you to keep it alive.
When we first started out we were in the basement of a house and we had three desks, two computers, and $500.00 cash! Only in America. We felt there is a market for a free magazine. Then there is the fact that you do not see bikers hanging around the newsstands sipping a lattes. They are earthier than that. Our goal was to put the magazine in the hands of all riders; making it a free circulation our goal became a reality. As for our readers, just keep on reading and we appreciate your loyalty.
4. Where do you come up with the stories for the magazine?
Our readers supply several of the ideas and/or write some of the articles. Then there are our advertisers. But, mostly it is a motorcycle lifestyle magazine and we live the life. The inspiration for most of our articles, come from our life experiences.

5. What is the most exciting thing that has happened since you began running this magazine?
The Premiere of our National TV Show in 2005, “Biker’s 2000 Video Magazine” was a dream come true. The next big thing is our “e-Mag in 2007”, that has really taken off and our circulation is over 500,000 readers.

6. What are your ultimate goals for the company and the magazine?
Survival . . . ha-ha. Seriously, we are about to embark on a new magazine called “ B2K Extreme” for the sport bike riders. The wheels here are always churning with another idea.
7. What would be the thing that you all dream of doing with this magazine and the company? (for instance what would be the dream story or the ultimate pictures)
Selling the magazine to Joe Paisano of Paisano Publications, LLC! Then move to the beach and sip on margaritas all day.
8. Do you sponsor any charity runs?
We do several charity events all over the US. However, in our own community we do the cancer society’s “Relay for Life”, also the yearly Cerebral Palsy event, which we have been awarded “The Best Event” for three years in a row.

9. Please tell us if each of you ride and what you ride.
We all ride! Of course. Jody rides whichever one of the bikes has gas in them. We have one of everything but a Triumph. Know anyone who wants to donate us one?
10. Please tell us your most memorable experience in riding. (Whether that be an accident or a wild ride across the country.)
We were all coming back from a beach rally and it was treacherous down pour, tornado and severe thunderstorm warnings, and roads you could barely see. We were all soaked, cold and real thankful we made it home in one piece and safely. My driveway never looked so good!

11. Do you work on your rides yourselves?
Yes, Jody manages all of our planned rides. Matt and Patrick video and take pictures, saving the memories for another day. We are really “hands-on” sponsors, doing whatever is necessary for the success of the run.
12. What is the best event that you have all been to and what event would you recommend to your friends.
Jody’s favorite is “Thunder Beach”. He continues to say, “Any beach run will do, and sitting on the beach drinking a margarita is my idea of a great life. I am just a beach bum at heart.” All of the guys like the beach rally the best.
13. Please tell us how your family relates if at all the business. Do they also ride or help you with the business. Do you have children and are they interested in motorcycles?
When we started this business we vowed that our families would always come first. Therefore the magazine is kept clean enough for all age groups to read. As for the kids, they all ride and love it!
14. What company or individuals did you consider a big influence on your lives and your business? Who are your heroes?
After we got started the magazine there was a gentleman named Jerry Harrell from Motor Cycle Sports, Inc. here in Oxford. He was extremely supportive and a great mentor. He passed away a couple of years ago and we still miss his counsel.
15. Please tell me what you went through to find the awesome technology for the online magazine and did you know it was out there or did you come across it already developed for this magazine?
In the beginning we looked for a whole year for what we wanted technology wise for the magazine. It was frustrating to hear, “ sorry it is not out there yet” from geeks all over the nation. Then one Sunday after church Matt was hanging around talking about this idea the boys had for a video magazine. One of the church members said, “ I can do that “. . . . and so it began, “Bikers2000”eMag edition.
16. What is your favorite quote to deal with your company?
“We do what we say and we say what we do.”
17. What advise can you give to my readers about how to live your dreams and to create something that you are proud of?
Work hard, keep working harder, and just never give up. Your dream is waiting right around the corner.
18. What other endeavors are you into?
We are very diversified. We are in real estate, haunted houses, other outdoors adventures, and we advocate keeping the historical district of our community alive. We are not what I would call a tree hugger but with the ”e-Mag” we are trying to do our part and “Go Green”.
